Hashtag Lunchbag is a global movement that empowers everyday people to spread love, one lunch bag at a time. On Saturday, April 20th, our Atlanta Chapter is partnering with Precious Hospice to "Spring into giving!" We'll be preparing and distributing lunches to our neighbors without homes at the Butler Street Community Development Corporation and we'd love for you to serve with us! ♥ï¸
Assembly Start Time: 10:00 AM
Distribution Start Time: 11:30 AM
Location: 17 Jesse Hill Jr Drive NE, Atlanta GA
Details:
Love Notes and Lunch bags
We will begin by decorating the lunch bags and writing short notes of inspiration and encouragement that will go into each lunch bag.
Sandwich Assembly
We will prepare each sandwich with love and package them along with a small sweet treat for the receiver to enjoy! (Each preparer will be properly sanitized and protected.)
Bag Assembly
Each sandwich will be bagged, along with a love note, fruit, water, and other items for the receivers benefit, then prepped for distribution.
Distribution
This is the best part of the entire event! A portion of the sandwiches will be taken to our local Free99 Fridge, and the lunch bags will be passed around the city to those in need. The smiles we get from those we help are absolutely heart-warming! Locations will be provided to make distribution easier.
In addition, we will be collecting the following toiletry items to go into the lunch bags for our neighbors:
Marta Bus Passes
Toothbrushes
Travel size toothpaste
Travel size hand lotion
Travel size hand sanitizer
Deodorant
Ponchos
Tents
Chapstick
Body wipes
You can bring your item donations on the day of the service event, or send a monetary donation ($hashtaglunchbagatl) and we will happily do the shopping for you!
